SERION antigens
Tick-borne encephalitis (TBE) Virus
Tick-borne encephalitis Virus is a member of the genus of Flaviviruses and related with other Flaviviruses such as Dengue, Zika or the Hepatitis C Virus. The virus is transmitted via tick bite and can cause a severe encephalitis in humans.
Virion\Serion’s TBE Virus Envelope protein E (BA112R01) (Far Eastern subtype, strain Sofjin) is recombinantly produced in insect cells and highly purified by strep-tag affinity chromatography, which guarantees high quality and availability.
In addition, an optimized TBE Virus Envelope Protein E (BA112R02) is now available. The antigen is recombinantly produced in insect cells and is present in an oligomeric form, preserving relevant conformational epitopes. These characteristics provide a native-like antigen structure and support excellent performance in immunoassay applications. The optimized antigen is also suitable for CLIA-based assay formats.
Together with our Tick-borne encephalitis (TBE) Virus Antigen - Premium (BA112VS) (strain Moscow B-4), we have developed three excellent antigens for TBEV assay development. Virion\Serion’s native Tick-borne encephalitis (TBE) Virus Antigen - Premium is cultured in Vero cells and purified by size exclusion chromatography.
All antigens are suitable for the detection of IgG and IgM antibodies against TBE.
