Tick-borne encephalitis (TBE) Virus
Tick-borne encephalitis Virus is a member of the genus of Flaviviruses and related with other Flaviviruses such as Dengue, Zika or the Hepatitis C Virus. The virus is transmitted via tick bite and can cause a severe encephalitis in humans. For production of TBE premium antigen, the Tick-borne encephalitis Virus (strain Moscow B-4) is cultivated in Vero cells and the virus is purified by centrifugation and further size exclusion chromatography. The antigen is suitable for the detection of IgG and IgM antibodies against TBE.
