Yersinia enterocolitica is a Gram-negative bacterium, belonging to the Enterobacteriaceae family. Y. enterocolitica causes the disease yersiniosis, which is an animal-borne disease occurring in humans. For the production of three different native antigens, Yersinia enterocolitica (serovars O:3, O:8 and O:9) are cultivated in broth culture and stimulated to secrete YOPs (Yersinia outer proteins). The antigens are suitable for the detection of IgG, IgM and IgA antibodies against Yersinia.
