SERION antigens
Parvovirus
Parvovirus B19 was the first known human virus in the Parvoviridae family. During childhood it causes the “childhood rash” also called “fifth disease” or erythema infectiosum, but the virus can also affect adults. Currently, SERION Immunologics offers eight different recombinant Parvovirus B19 antigens, including a Parvovirus B19 VLP antigen, which is the common standard antigen used in most diagnostic applications, including ELISA. The VLPs are produced in SF9 insect cells (Baculovirus), purified by chromatography and suitable for the sensitive and specific detection of IgG and IgM antibodies against Parvovirus B19. The other seven recombinant Parvovirus B19 antigens (NS1, VP1, VP2, Pep A-D) are produced in E.coli and purified by chromatography in the presence of urea. Purity of ≥ 95% is confirmed via SDS-PAGE (Coomassie staining) for all recombinant antigens.
